At NetHackz our job is to hack the web! What that means is we browse the web to the extreme and find cool web applications for you so you don’t have to work your for it. This is one of the reason why we end of updating twice a week at the most as we are always working to find some cool applications, plugins or softwares for our awesome readers. Today’s post highlights 15 web applications that are fun and very useful. Some of them are extremely useful where as others allow you to have a good ol’ time.
Well, let’s not waste any more time and get started right away. Check out these applications, we are sure you are going to love each one of them.
- Note-it Express: I am pretty sure most of you have already hunted this one down since you mac users are always on the hunt for new and cool applications. But if you haven’t, here it is, an application that will let you sync notes to your ipod instead of music. You can write notes within this application and when you are done you can easily sync it with your ipod. A very handy application for mac fans, ipod users and students.

- Retail Me Not : This site is for some serious shoppers who like to shop but still like to save some money while at it. How many of you actually use coupons while buying stuff? I am sure most of you don’t, simply because you never have them. This handy site provides you with coupons for your shopping needs. You can find coupons based on categories ( electronics, home supplies, etc. ) or simply use the search bar to get coupon for your favorite shopping site. An excellent service for shoppers.

- Oovoo : An application that allows you to chat with your mom, dad, brother, sister and yes the annoying uncle and aunt as well, all at the same time via different computers. Since this service is free it makes it even more tempting to try it out. A great application if you are looking for a cheap ( free ) way to conduct video conferences and so on.

- Similicio.us : Similicio.us is a search engine that finds related articles based on tags or bookmarks on Del.icio.us. If you find an interesting article and want to explore what other similar articles are there on del.icio.us, then this site is a must use. If you like an article, simply paste the URL and hit search, you will get results with related articles based on tags or bookmarks on Del.icio.us.

- On My List : This is a fun and active community site where you can create and share list with other members. What you actually do on this site is create a list of something, say “ Worst fashions ever “ and then share pictures and thoughts with other community members and get comments as well. Here is a sample for you from the past.

- Gas Buddy : GasBuddy is a web service that provides you information on gas prices. This service not only checks gas prices in your state but will provide you prices within your zipcode. It allows you to compare prices between different gas station in your city so you know where to drop the least amount of money for more gallons of gas.

- Built With : This web based website profiler lets you quickly look up all the technologies implemented in creating a website , example google, msn, etc. This nifty website is capable of capturing and identifying widgets, analytic tools, hosting software, advertising networks and much more.

- Walk 2 Web : What this service does is it lets you search for a particular website from its starting point. You simply type in the website name and you will be taken to a page. Initially the starting point will be the websites name and the website is connected to six nodes, three showing outgoing links and the other three showing incoming links. Now you can see all the links this website has, both inbound and outbound. When you hover your pointer over these links a website preview is shown on the right side which gives you an idea or preview where this particular site is linking or who is linking to it. This is one of the best way to check links since it is interactive and fun.

- Product Wiki : This site resembles Wikipedia in the sense it offers exact same service but for product reviews. On this site, each user can review products and add their own reviews or edit reviews submitted by other users.

- Animoto : The main objective of this site is to allow you to create a video or a trailer, using your images which animates or moves along with the tune of the music you provide. You can also select tunes from their library which currently has Indie Rock, HipHop and Electronica.

- Should Do This : A website that lets you voice your suggestion to companies, city officials or products. Yes, you can simply call the company or the product hotline but if you ever have, you know it takes a while to get connected, and not to mention the hold after finally getting connected to a customer rep. The service this website provides gets rid of that, to a point. Try it out!

- He Did What : This website is for the ladies to write about man problems they might have. All the postings are based on popularity. This might be helpful for the ladies to vent their man frustration out while staying anonymous.

- BlogBackUpOnline : An online backup service for blogs that lets the user run a full backup of their blogs, schedule and store backups online and export or restore blog from a backup file. Also this service proves to be really helpful if you are thinking of changing your blogging platform.

- ChinSwing : A service that lets you share and participate in a discussion using your voice. You can use voice messages to participate in an ongoing topic, ask for suggestions, start a new discussion and all this will be done using voice messages instead of texts. Relief to the sore fingers!

- I4GiveU : A website that allows you to post your sins and be rated from other members. You can rate other people’s sin based on whether or not it is forgivable. It is pretty neat, I don’t know how many people would take the word of other members instead of a priest, but hey it’s a fun time in there.

Recently, I wrote an article regarding methods to quantify Sharability within online applications in looking at Modular Innovation and the characteristics that lead to sustainability. It is always interesting to see that many of the products you listed, above, have strong and robust Sharing capabilities. Take a look at my recent article on Sharability here:
