As if hitting the front page of Digg wasn’t hard enough before, now we have to worry about being handpicked as one of the URL’s that have been stamped with “Do Not Front Page“.

They’re not banned domains. They can be submitted. They can be upvoted as many times that’s humanly (or robotically) possible but they will never receive the infamy of being promoted to the front page. There is no threshold or time limit on these URL’s. It’s too late for these sites.

Unlike banned domains, the sites on the autobury list are not prohibited from being submitted. They go through like normal and appear to be on the way to the front page. At some point they just drop out of the upcoming list and are forever left in obscurity. What has happened is that the infamous algorithm has marked these URL’s as offenders who have attempted to game the system. Read the rest of this entry

When we started Net Hackz, we promised you that we would start out with a series on popular browser plug ins. So far we have provided you with Firefox plug-ins and Safari add-ons. Today we bring you some of the best plug-ins for one of the most hated yet one of the most popular browser – Internet Explorer.

With more than 70 % of market share, Internet Explorer rules the market of the browsers and even though it’s so popular it’s less known for the available plug-ins. There are many plug-ins or assisting software available for Internet Explorer that makes it powerful and safer (which unfortunately, isn’t by default; although, things have changed tremendously in the latest version i.e. IE 7). Wow, what a week! It’s a great feeling when you wait to launch something and then when you do, it literally sets itself on fire. We launched NetHackz on Monday night and since then the response has been overwhelming. Digg, Del.icio.us, Stumble Upon community loved the site and LifeHacker added a little icing on the cake by linking to us which certainly is great for a newly launched site that is less than a week old.

NetHackz Launch Stats

Today, we just wanted to quick take some time to thank all the new readers that have subscribed to our blog and also a little on what you will be seeing on NetHackz for couple weeks. We here at NetHackz don’t believe in updating on a fixed routine. We believe in quality over quantity so although you might not find articles everyday you will find regular articles each week that will certainly tickle your itch for the information that’s out there on the web.

Now a little on what you will find for a couple weeks. Since our first post on Firefox add ons was such a huge success you will see a series of add ons for different browsers in upcoming posts. We have three more posts coming up on helpful plugins and add ons which will focus on Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera. There should be one coming up for you guys this weekend so hang on tight and subscribe to NetHackz and be a part of Hackz community.

Cheers!

When it comes to InterNet(Hackz), the first thing which comes to our mind is the browser which we use to access the internet. In my case it’s Firefox but I’m sure there are people who prefer to use various other available browsers.

Those days are gone when a simple browser was more than enough for our daily tasks and as web has evolved, our demand from a web browser has also increased and in order to fetch maximum from a browser, developers create plug-ins and we are going to cover the best add-ons for the major browsers i.e. FireFox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.

Let’s start the journey of these wonderful add-ons with my favorite browser and i.e. FireFox (if you like some other browser, please keep that secret with you only as I’ll not switch to that browser – So leave the comments away from another infamous browser war ;-) Read the rest of this entry
