Users of google docs will now be able to use a wide variety of templates. The integration of templates was announced by Google on Thursday which are created by Google and a number of other companies. Currently there are 294 templates to choose from which includes,

• Business Cards
• Cover Letters
• Invoices
• Party Invitations, etc.

This is what Google had to say in regards to integrating user generated templates,

Eventually, we want to give everyone a way to submit templates so we can capture the broadest set of use cases and let the user-rated favourites bubble to the top. But we don’t have a specific timeline to share at this time.

Things keep getting interesting between Yahoo and Microsoft. A  letter written by Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang and Roy Bostock to the shareholders claims that Microsoft and Icahn’s latest proposal will destroy the stockholders value at Yahoo.

Adeona is a free service launched by researchers at the University of Washington and the University of California, San Diego. With the rate of increasing laptop theft this service might be a boon for most businesses. People tend to get their laptops stolen or lost mostly at the airport. Personally, if I am traveling I don’t lose sight of my laptop…it’s just too precious to depart from even for a minute when I am traveling. Twitter has launched a new service – Twitter search. It would be nice to see Twitter eliminate all the downtime and add new features in the future as well. The new Twitter Search allows users to find tweets and other users and so on. Go Twitter!!!

Google said that it will be able to mask user information before it hands out any information to Viacom. A Federal Court had ordered You Tube to hand over usernames, IP addresses and viewing histories to Viacom earlier this month, which won’t be necessary anymore.

This is what Google had to say,

Viacom and the other litigants have backed off their demand for YouTube user viewing histories. We have reached agreement to anonymise the data.

I am glad Viacom and Google owned You Tube reached an agreement. This puts everybody in a win win situation.
