Lately there have been a lot of things sprouting on the web that I am simply falling in love with. I am not a heavy Craigslist user but still at times I tend to use it for some things that I want. However, the extensive clicking and scrolling sometimes just makes the work a little too hard for me. Search All Craig’s List is a new tool that eliminates this hassle. It allows you to search anything that is listed on Craigslist. It sure is a handy way to tap into the massive listing that exists on Craigslist. I am sure I will be using Craigslist a lot more often since this service will definitely make it a lot easier to find listings.

Nothing is hidden on the web. Most of us use Wikipedia for to gather information and it has been a great tool for students and researchers alike as well. Not all entries live on Wikipedia forever. So where do these entries go when they get deleted or dumped out of Wikipedia? You guessed it right. It goes into Deletionpedia. Deletionpedia is a service that hosts 60,000 deleted articles from Wikipedia. So if you are looking for something that you think isn’t available on Wikipedia, give Deletionpedia a try. You never know, you might just find it there. Remember, nothing dies on the internet, it keeps on living.

Most of us already know about twitter and the service it provides. Its one of the best way to stay in touch with friends and family. Besides getting in touch it also happens to be one of the best marketing gateway, given you use it with caution and not as a spamming tool.

Anyways, a new service,Gospelr has been launched that is almost similar to Twitter but the only difference is that it caters to Christians. So if you are a Christian who wants to know a little more about their religion or talk whats going on in the Church today, this certainly might be something that will appeal to you.

Although internet hasn’t been around for that long the idea has existed for a long time, longer than we thought. Please take a look at the video below where Paul Otlet, a visionary in document and information management lays out an idea which we call internet today. He presented the idea in 1939 and this is what we call the internet today.

Rumors have been circulating on the web that Ebay is trying to sell StumbleUpon. Ebay bought StumbleUpon in 2007 for a grand $75 Million which still seems to be a justifiable price for a site like StumbleUpon. However, at the time of acquisition everyone in the tech industry thought Ebay would use StumbleUpon in some ways for their online auctions or other purpose. But ebay left the service as it is and did not integrate anything new or change in service. Given the fact that ebay isn’t really soaring high it seems like a right decision for them to sell this part of their business.

Think Google will jump in and get hold of StumbleUpon? They very well might.

If you are an active digg user by now you probably already know a lot of active users have been baneed. Some for using scripts and some for creating one. There’s been a lot of lists being circulated on the web but this one definitely shows all the ones that are currently banned on Digg.

Please click on the on the image below to see who has been banned. If you see “no data” on the far right, the user has been banned. Its really sad how things are going and we are losing some very good users who used to throw in some great content but well….they are gone.

update : I had some misunderstanding regarding the user data and how the banning was shown on the site. Please read the first comment below for clarification. Thanks FirstDigg.

Portable Media PlayerMany in the business and education field have found that the use of computers and the various tools on them is a great way to give a compelling presentation.  One can use photos, videos, PowerPoint presentations, websites, and other documents to help get the point across.

While this is an effective way to give a presentation or lecture, there are times when it is important to stand in front of the crowd, staying mobile and truly engaging the viewers.  The problem is this: how does one accomplish this if they also have to be at the computer running the visual show.

The solution: using a portable media player to have a compelling and interactive experience for the viewers.

Just found out that German publisher Bertlesmann released a printed version of Wikipedia which will sell for 19.95 Euros and is 992 pages long. I find this to be odd as first and foremost all the info on Wikipedia cannot be contained within 992 pages and second why the hell does anyone need a physical copy of Wikipedia? It might be helpful to reference once in a while without being infront of a computer but still having a physical copy limits users from all the things they can do online such as editing articles, full text search, etc. Just my thought.

You can preview the book but please remember its in German. Ohh and the text can also be downloaded onto your computer.

Its just my personal opinion and some or most people might find this to be useful. I simply can’t get over the idea why and RWB seems to agree with it.

This is what one of the readers on RWB said and said it very well,
