Hope you guys are starting the day with some excitement. I have already had a fair share of spookiness early in the morning but I know a lot more awaits later tonight. People make sculptures from many different things. Clay, sand, fruits and vegetables and now we come across meat. Yes, meat! The images you are about to see are some of the weirdest arts we have even seen. We are pretty sure after you look at them there will be some of you thinking the same. Now we have to wait and see what PETA says about this form of art.

I am not sure if the last image is considered art or the guy is getting ready for Halloween. You decide.

Productivity for professionals was once centered on organizing the many papers, notebooks, files, documents, diagrams, and other physical items that encompassed our business lives.  The truly productive professional was one who could quickly find and reference their files to retrieve crucial data.

The need hasn’t changed.  Today, it’s all about the delivery and access.  Paper is out.  Digital is in.

“Paper is no longer the master copy; the digital version is,” says Brewster Kahle, the founder and director of the Internet Archive, a nonprofit digital library. “Paper has been dealt a complete deathblow. When was the last time you saw a telephone book?” Read the rest of this entry

Whether you are trying to research something or simply trying to see how your friends view things, the best possible way to get a glimpse of it is through polls. There are numerous polling softwares and what not that are floating around the web. However, PollEverywhere stands out among all other polling services.

PollEverywhere lets you see what your audience thinks of a particular topic instantly. If you are in a conference or speaking at an event, you can simply ask a question and get response from your audience or colleagues within a matter of seconds. You can then show the poll results to the entire audience via web or powerpoint. The use of this service is effortless. Simply ask your question and have your audience text you their reply. That’s it. Although I would like to give you some more ways on how and why you should use this service, they have done such a good job of compiling all the information that it would be a waste of my time and yours as well. If you would like to learn more and see how exactly this service works please visit this link : PollEverywhere Rocks! Like I said its as easy as ask, get replies via text messages or web and you are ready to roll. Very simple to use and inexpensive compared to other services.

Currently there are six plans available which ranges from free to $370 per month. If you have an audience of 10,000 whose opinion might count towards your goal, $370 dollar should be considered chump change.

Ever wondered how the internet would work in China? Of course, you never had the reason to but given the fact that Chinese economy is growing day by day, you never know when you might end up there. Its always a good thing to keep in touch with the rest of the world and know exactly what to expect when it comes to using the web. A new Firefox add on now lets you experience the web the way it would if you were in China. This means a bunch of sites not available to view cause they are banned in China for obvious reasons. The plugin can be downloaded here : China Channel Firefox Add-on

Apple is well known among computer users as a company that is well versed in creating products that are extremely well designed and of course serves the purpose perfect. I came across a presentation today which shows some products that are shamelessly copied from Apple products. Enjoy!

Although this mock up products might make you look “hip” and cool I can almost put money down that they won’t work as good as Apple products do. And not to mention, few of them are made in China.

This site (SocialElves) seems to have created some buzz on the web.  Personally, I think someone just wasted a good amount of time creating a site that won’t do them any good. A business model like this won’t succeed in the long run if it succeeds at all. The fact that someone is trying to game publicly and creating so much buzz on the web alone is a failure. We all know that there is certain amount of digg gaming. There is nothing wrong with social media marketing but needs to be done in a way where clients get the most benefit. How about giving content optimization help among other things? That certainly isn’t the case with this service.

Here are a few of my reasons as to why this service is a sure failure:

  • For a digg promotion they are asking $300. For most of you this might not be a lot of money but $300 dollar for a trial to see how it works out seems like a lot of money to me.
  • Although they provide a money back guarantee, you won’t get the full amount back. Here is an excerpt from the site itself :“Getting a story popular on Digg is never a sure thing, even with our extensive experience. That is why we provide a money back guarantee. We will give you money back ($1.50) for every Digg under 200 within 48 hours. So if we are only able to give you 180 Diggs within 48 hours, you will get refunded $30.”Trust me pulling 100-125 diggs isn’t that hard if your content is good. So even if the submission doesn’t make it to the frontpage you still lose most of your money if not all. And Digg barely brings any traffic unless you hit the frontpage. So 300 dollars to sit on upcoming page for 20 hours? I don’t think so.
  • What these guys are trying to do by making their service available publicly already goes on underground. This is nothing new but the fact that they will be doing what everyone else does ( asking for diggs via email, IM and such) just doesn’t seem worth $300.
  • They aren’t providing content optimization. If you are going to do social media promotion the first thing you need to provide your client is help with their content so they can create one that suits the digg community. Didn’t see that anywhere on this site. Its straight to the point : Give us $300 and we will give it a shot. If it doesn’t work out we will give 10% back kind of deal.

All in all whoever created this service will be exposed sooner or later. Words are floating around on the web and every active social being seems to be on the hunt for the creator of this service. As of now we have these information available so far,

It won’t be long before everything regarding this site is exposed. if the site had worked underground then it probably had a chance but creating all the buzz on the web is what is going to take this site down hill. Will keep you updated.

Looks like Santa (Digg) will be firing (banning) these naughty elves pretty soon!

Update : The information has been leaked and we know the mastermind behind this service but would hate to pour water down his dreams….so we will be nice and keep our mouth shut. But seriously what the heck was this person thinking by creating such a hype on the web about a service like this? Some businesses make money by creating hype and some do by staying underground.

Failed!
