I just wanted to thank you for putting up with us during our server update! We moved off of the Media Temple grid setup to a MT dedicated machine so the Hackz Network could handle the traffic better.. It’s not exactly a painless process, but it’s all done now!
We have something very special coming up for you – and we wanted to make sure our setup could handle it..
We’re going to usher in NetHackz podcasts!
The first episode is about 45 minutes long, prior to editing which is underway now. So before long, you’ll have access through this site and also throuh iTunes!
If you are a flight simulator fan and don’t mind using your iPhone for that purpose this game might just be in for a treat. Take a look at the video below, it looks pretty sweet.
That’s right! The good folks at Neatorama have taken some time to bring us the family tree of Telecommunication. After you see the image you might think that this is pretty crowded but the folks who created it say that this is oversimplified and might miss some details as well. With all the acquisitions and mergers going on between phone companies its hard to keep tabs on the telecommunication industry. However, this image might give you some idea on how it all started and the never ending tree that keeps on growing by splitting branches every other month or so.
I am sure most of you know all about the Nerf Guns. They are one of the most fun toys to play with. I have two boys who are a big fan of these toys and I am guilty myself of sneaking and playing with these cool Nerf Guns every once in a while. The only thing that seems to annoy me the most are the marks that are left on my TV screen as my two boys don’t seem to understand that TV isn’t really a target. Anyway, here is a cool looking Modded Nerf,
Before
After
Hey, there is nothing wrong in admiring a modded toy once in a while. You have got to agree with me that whoever did this, did pretty awesome.
If you are a gamer who happens to use XBox as your console, you probably know all about the “red ring of death.” Any Xbox fan that is about to venture out on a dark halloween night will for sure keep away from a house that might have this pumpkin sitting out the door. As far as I know, XBox gamers try to stay from RRoD ( Red Ring of Death ) no matter what.
The concept of Tizmos is pretty cool although its nothing pioneering. The service basically allows you to add you favorite sites which are all shown as thumbnails on your Tizmos page. This allows you to access your favorite sites without having to type in the URL on the address bar. As far as I can see, you can add as many sites as you would like. To be able to use this site users do have to create an account but its the basic information stuff and doesn’t take more than a minute. One thing I found while using Tizmos was that you are allowed to enter tags while adding your favorite sites. It also gives you an option to either make your page public or private. This approach seems like a nice way to get more exposure if users have an option to look for other users favorites based on tags and such. I tried looking for information if it allows users to see other people’s favorites (if the account is set on public) based on tags but couldn’t find anything.
All in all its a pretty cool service and does solve a problem that most of us face at times. If it allows users to search other people’s favorites based on tags this service can surely be something most webmasters could make use of. If you look at the image below I have added the blogs within the Hackz Network. While tagging I tagged Traffickd as “internet marketing.” If they allow users to search based on tags it would be one more way to get exposure for webmasters and bloggers which would give their service more appeal.
We have all heard of services like TinyURL that helps us shorten the URL. These services come in handy especially when using services like Twitter where you have to stay within a certain number of characters. However, these services only allow you to use shrink one URL at a time. Shrink2One allows you to shrink multiple URLs and creates one single URL that you can pass along.
This is especially helpful for people who like to share social media votes and such through IM and email as they don’t have to copy/paste or write multiple URLs. Simply use this service and enter all URLs that you would like to send and hit “Shrink Now.” This gives you one URL that you can send and the recipient can click just one link to get access to all the URLs. Less amount of work for both, the sender and the receiver. Its a pretty cool concept.
I am not sure if you already know this but the body and mind of a geek functions differently than a non geek. The image below should give you some idea on the anatomy of a geek. As with any other men, the majority of Geeks (male) brain seems to be filled with erotic fantasies as you can see from the image.
With the economy going downhill it only seems fair that we make use of money in other ways to make more money, literally. I am not sure how many of you have money to actually use it as an ingredient to make sculptures out of, but if you do this might be an interesting hobby to catch up on. Check out the images below which show some beautiful sculptures made out of money. Although we would like to adopt this hobby at this point in time we don’t think its in our interest. Enjoy!

People either have a lot of time on hand or are simply trying to find ways to break through the firewall set by corporate offices. Before I started working for the Hackz Network I used to work at a corporate office and as you can imagine there was no way I could download any music file or music videos. Looks like this hacking takes care of it all. Phil Clandillon and Steve Milbourne, who work at a division of Sony/BMG have put together an AC/DC musi video in Excel format.
This is what Clandillon said to a Wired representative regarding the excel format,
Basically, it’s come about because we recognized that a lot of people have fairly restrictive internet and security policies at work. What we really liked was that we could actually subvert the corporate firewalls by including AC/DC’s music in an Excel spreadsheet, because that’s allowed through every corporate firewall there is.
