We all know that the digg community has been pretty frustrated with all the recent bannings that has been going on recently. I think this has started effecting a group of members known as the “baby diggers” that are largely unnoticed by other diggers. Today a baby digger by the name Lance Knight Rodriguez brings out the message to all the diggers and Kevin Rose from his community.

We would like to thank Lance for bringing into attention about the existence of “baby diggers.” I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of Lance in the coming weeks and months as he seems to speak his mind out loud and clear.

Thanks Neal for the video. Hopefully Digg will listen to Lance as he seems to do a better job than you ;-)

Most webmasters still use Alexa to see where their site ranks on the web. This has been something that has been talked about before but to anyone who has yet know about the changes Alexa has made the figures you are about to see might give you little idea. Alexa has stopped counting Social Media traffic, at least Digg. It seems like it still counts other social media traffic because when we looked into our Alexa ranking it seems pretty decent and we do get quite a few hits from StumbleUpon and of course our type in traffic is killer. Anyways, this might be nothing new to most but if you are still checking your ranks on Alexa and monitoring where you site is heading it might not be the best tool to use. Below are some images that show the difference between Alexa and Compete. Enjoy!

Techcrunch

Arstechnica

Cracked

Wired

The Onion

Seriously, Alexa is totally crapped out. If you monitor your sites ranking there you might be as well see yourself going downhill and the case might be you are actually soaring high. Avoid it.

note : we contacted Alexa regarding some changes and of course they didn’t reply back. Nothing has been said officially but I guess we can see it for ourselves.

Google’s recent project 10^100 has generated a huge response from people with world changing ideas. Google recently announced funding for five world changing ideas and the response that generated is certainly overwhelming. This clearly shows there are a lot of ambitious people with ideas that might take world to the next level in terms of technology or whatever field it might be. Now the google staff has to go through all those submission and select 100 finalist which won’t be an easy task.

This is what Bethany Poole, a product marketing manager at Google had to say,

We’re thrilled by the large array of enthusiastic responses to Project 10^100. That number has exceeded our expectations. We’re also very impressed by the variety and ingenuity of the submissions across all categories, ranging from health to energy, education and the environment.

Whether you are into social media for fun or marketing, you should be doing a weekly (minimum) visit to:

These are no-brainers written by top-tier social media people like Maki, Tamar Weinberg, and Neil Patel.  If you haven’t visited any of these, stop reading write now and check them out.  When you’re done, come back and read about the less-known social media blogs, the “hidden gems” on the blogosphere.

Here they are, in no particular order.  Read them and learn:
