Doctors, lawyers, accountant are some of the careers that most dream of. However, sometimes these aren’t exactly what a person is bound to be or choose as a career. With newer platforms and career opportunities, people have developed skills that allows them to work from home and still earn a decent income.
We at Nethackzthink it is necessary to point out these careers every once in a while. Also with Twitter competing with the mainstream media we thought we would choose one career and tie it in with Twitter. An emerging career with an emerging social networking platform! Today we have chosen web/graphic design as an emerging career. Here are 50 amazing web/graphic designers that you can follow on twitter and learn from them and about them. Read the rest of this entry
We have been trying not to include as much twitter news cause it seems like we have been doing that a lot lately. And once again although we were a little hesitant we had to do it once again. Here at Nethackz, we browse the web like crazy and while doing so we look up at the auction sites as well to see what is up for grabs to let our users know anything that might be a cool grab or anything that might be useless.
As you know Twitter is everywhere. There is a new twitter app or a twitter tool coming out like there is no tomorrow. Here is one more twitter tool that shows you fresh tweets on Obama. We are not sure what to say and why this site exists but we had to point it out cause we think its kind of ummmmmmm dumb ( we might be wrong and it might prove useful to some, just not us). This site provides you with all the tweets that include the word/name “Obama,” but you can do that through Twitter Search as well. Anyways the sites name is ObamaTweet and it is up for grabs on sitepoint.
I guess money is never enough. Its one of those things, the more you have the more you waste and in turn want more so you can once again waste more of it. A surgeon recently did exactly that cause I guess he wanted to give something more to his family – his 2 Great Danes.
He spent roughly $385,000 to give his two pets a luxury kennel that most people can only dream of. Some of the features of the Kennel :
52 inch Plasma TV
Sheepskin lined raised beds
Temperature regulated dogspa with saline purification system
Camera all around the property so the owner can watch their dogs roam
2 bedrooms and a livingroom with heat controlled via the internet.
Lucky dogs? You bet. I understand the fact that pets are a part of family but this to me seems like a little over the head. Even if I had that much money I would have to think million time before spending such an amount and I still wouldn’t do it.
As most of you already know the financial capital of India, Mumbai recently came under terrorist attack. If you haven’t heard of it yet it might be a good idea to check the latest news as to what is going on in regards to this attack through major news sources and of course on twitter. If you want news on Mumbai terrorist attack through Twitter please use this search keyword “#mumbai” on Twitter Search.
As of now it has been reported that 125 people have died and more than 300 are injured as a result of this terrorist attack. These attacks were mostly targeted towards Westerners, mainly Americans and Europeans. The web has become such a powerful source of information and it provides a platform for citizen to become journalists and provide information first hand. A guy named “Vinu” is the prime example of citizen journalism. Please check out the images taken by him after the attacks. For more pictures please visit the source link at the end of this post.
Of course there are more images on the web. We wanted to point these out because they are the prime example of what citizen journalism can do in today’s day and age. We don’t have to wait for big media channels to give us the scoop anymore. The power to bring information is truly in our hand if we dare to do it.
Rick Astley has taken the web by storm lately. He creates videos based on anything that is popular and turns it into something funny, hilarious which is followed by the same song. Recently, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was “RickRolled,” check out the video below,

Of course none of us use floppy disks to store data anymore but they used to be one of the most useful data storage devices at one point in time. I remember storing all my essays and papers and what not while I was in high school. Good times. Although we do not use floppy disk anymore (some still do) it is important to sometimes take a walk down the memory lane and take a look at them. Here are some pointers that show the evolution of Floppy disks.
1971
IBM introduced 8 inch floppy disk in 1971
Initial capacity approximately 100KB
Radioshack had an internal floppy drive which was capable of storing 5KB.
1976
Shugart introduced 5 1/4 inch floppy disk in 1976
Initial capacity = 100KB
Later the capacity was upto 1.2 MB
In 1977 Northstar became the first computer with built in 5 1/4 inch internal floppy drives.
1980
Sony introduced 31/2 inch floppy disks in 1980
It could hold upto 400K
Apple Macintosh in 1984 had an internal floppy drive capable of holding 400KB
Hope you enjoyed a little “Floppy Drive” history .
This is an amazing song, amazing video and from around the world. Simply beautiful. We usually don’t feature these kind of videos here but we had to. It will touch your hearts, trust me .
Here is the description taken from YouTube :
From the award-winning documentary, “Playing For Change: Peace Through Music”, comes the first of many “songs around the world” being released independently. Featured is a cover of the Ben E. King classic by musicians around the world adding their part to the song as it travelled the globe. This and other songs such as “One Love” will be released as digital downloads soon; followed by the film soundtrack and DVD early next year.
