It is a well known fact that most people like to scan when it comes to lengthy articles. This is one of the reason why we like to keep it short and to the point here on NetHackz. Everyone is so busy with their lives we barely have too much time on hand to actually sit and read a thousand word article. This is where GreatSummary comes in handy. This application allows you to summarize an article or a site into 1 or upto 100 sentences (points).

We used an article from our blog MarketingHackz to see how it would work and it is quite impressive if you put the text on step 1 and ignore step 2. When we added link to the article it returned results that were from the entire site and not just the article. However, pasting the text on the first box was pretty impressive. Here is the article that we used this service to see what it would come up with 5 Tips On Getting Attention From Your Ads
Here is the summary that GreatSummary returned :

Although not perfect it still is quite impressive. Give it a try, it might save you some time while on the run.

If you are one of those people who likes to collect extravagant things, this watch might be right up your alley. The watch is built by Swiss watch makers and carries a whooping $450,000 price tag. Some of the things that makes this watch so costly are :
- Steel casing is made up of tiny parts from Apollo 11
- Dial is made up of minerals from the real moon dust
- The dial mimics little indents that looks like moon craters
- The watch marks the 40th anniversary of the 1969 moon landings and only 1,969 pieces are available.
If you have got the money and are into “bling bling” this might be the next jewel you are seeking

We have all seen them and they are quite popular among teens. Chain mails – everyone has seen them and some of us actually forwarded it to a couple of our friends just to make sure. Some say ” if you don’t send this you will have a badluck….” and others “send this to all your friends and your wish will come true within 5 minutes…” you get the picture. However, none of these ever work. Finally someone created a chain mail that actually works. Take a look at it and forward it to as many as you can cause IT WORKS!

You can’t tell me this won’t work. Give it a try

Phewwww… I think that is almost $1 billion right? Anything that has more than 6 digits is a problem for me to count. Anyways, a Facebook spammer was fined almost a billion dollar for illegally advertising on Facebook. The spammer, Guerbuez was sued by Facebook on August of this year. He was using Facebook to spam user’s inbox and walls with advertisements that were often on marijuana, or sexual products and what not.

Fair win for Facebook!
With Twitter breaking into the mainstream media, it seems like everyone is coming with tools for Twitter. Some of them are extremely useful and some are completely out of whack. Seriously, some Twitter tools exist for no reason what so ever. One of those tools is the newly launched twitter tool, TweetValue. What this tool does is calculates the worth of your profile in dollars. I can’t really see any use of this tool than something to play with and get discouraged. I tried my twitter profile and it came about $25 in terms of value. That is discouraging to say the least but then again my profile isn’t there to make money, its there to make contacts and increase my visibility.

Give it a try and let us know what you think. A useless tool or something that you find useful?
Yahoo!7 doesn’t seem to like when someone mentions gmail. Check it out,

Steve Wozniak can be quite funny and well controversial at times. This time he has once again been able to cause quite a stir among people. The only difference though is its not something he said but something he did. Check it out,

With everything rising in price its not unusual that people are cutting back on spending. I sure have cut my trips to McDonalds. Well, fast food might be cheap for you but when you eat fast food as much as I do, it adds up quick. A recent survey conducted by Pricegrabber shows that 70.8 percent out of 2,641 online shoppers said that they will be cutting their holiday spendings this year in comparison to 2007. Of course the economy has a major role in it. Rising gas prices, grocery cost and of course people do not think that the economy might gain the momentum soon either.
It seems like retailers are going get hit hard this holiday season. More layoffs? Who knows. We have included some images from the report for you to take a look at on this post which should give you a general idea of the report and survey itself and the results. If you would like to download the PDF version of the report please scroll to the bottom of this post.

Most of you already know about TinyURL which allows users to shorten the links. TinyURL is mostly useful when you need to tweet a link or are confined by character usage. It perfectly makes sense that services like TinyURL exist because they are actually helpful.
HugeURL on the other hand allows you to create a huge URLs, literally. Take a URL and put it in the box provided and you will get one heck of a huge URL. We can’t see any real use of this service besides annoying somebody. If you find a real purpose for this service please let us know in the comments.
