Nintendo’s Wii has taken the video game market by storm. I don’t own a Wii but have been thinking about buying one but after reading this piece I am quite hesitant to do so. A new disease has emerged and it is cause by playing Wii. The disease is called “Wii-itis.”

It has been reported that at least 10 people are hospitalized each week due to Wii-itis. The reason people are getting admitted in the hospital is because of the physical strain some of the Wii games puts on your body such as playing tennis or running, etc. Another injury related to Wii is called Wii-knee which is caused by bending of knee and such while playing Wii Fit.

Wii has gotten a lot of attention among video game players. It has been able to appeal both adults and children alike. However, due to Wii-itis and Wii-knee you might want to be careful while playing the Wii. 10 people getting hospitalized each week due to Wii is quite staggering.

Giveaway Of the Day is a website that gives away free licensed versions of software and games every day. The main object of the site is for the readers to sample the site’s sponsors’ offerings. You get free “pro” versions of software of Premium Booster, Advanced Windows Care and stuff. You’ll be given one copy of the software free everyday.

Although you get these licensed softwares for free, you cannot update the software and cannot claim tech support either. You must install and register the software on the same day. They also give away some small games like the “Brave Dwarves Pack” everyday. Besides there is a great forum where they have a list of freeware alternatives for essential software. There’s no registering on the site. Just open the site and start downloading.

While surfing the web (we have the coolest job ever) I came across a link which showed percentage of people that are quite dependent on the internet. Since internet is how I earn my bread and butter it is of utmost importance to me that I have access to it. But if it was for mere pleasure I think I could live without it. I will never know though cause I am not sure if I ever will be out of an internet connection unless I go build a shack somewhere in a jungle where there are no internet services. I mean you can pretty much have access to internet anywhere in the world.

According to a study conducted by Harris Interactive 65% of U.S. adults say they cannot live without internet connection. And the most saddening thing is the fact that women are more into internet than sex. Yes, it is pretty sad. I guess for the first time sex is beaten by another activity. If I had to vote between sex and the internet my vote would go to sex at any point in my life, I think. Check out the graphs below,

One of the reason I don’t own an iPhone is simply because I have to break my contract with my current provider. I am a tightwad like that, I don’t like to pay money and break out of my contract. But if iPhone could be used with any provider, trust me I would have one by now. Anyways, recently a video was posted showing an unlocked 3G iPhone. The creator claims that the unlock will be publicly available on Dec.31st.

Have you ever felt the need to participate in a web forum without having the need to type? Wouldn’t it be nice to share your feelings and opinions using your voice instead of fingers on a web forum?

Chinswing, a service which lets you share and participate in a discussion does exactly that. You can use voice messages to participate in an ongoing topic, ask for suggestions, start a new discussion and all this will be done using voice messages instead of text postings. I know, relief to the sore fingers.

Some of the features that I liked about this service is being able to use your voice instead of your fingers and the fact that everything is divided into categories so you can pick a particular category and start participating.

Cool service! By the way, I love those little green monster, gobblin images on the front page.

Rumors are going around that T-Mobil might be gearing up to launch G2 pretty soon in the near future. As of this point it is just a rumor but we are pretty sure G2 is in the making and will launch soon. Can’t say if it will launch on the exact date as rumors has it but we can almost guarantee that will be out sometimes early next year. Here are a few things that we found related to G2 from our source link.

note : these specs are taken directly from the source. please click on the source link for more information,

  • The product specs on the T-Mobile G2 that CellPhoneSignal ran weren’t actually all that far off, just the date was completely wrong.
  • The device is a full touch device and there is no physical QWERTY keyboard.
  • There is still a trackball at the bottom.
  • The launch was delayed from late February to April due to software issues.
  • We’ve been informed this device will actually launch on another global carrier besides T-Mobile as well, though they didn’t say who, and they said that the G1, G2, G3, etc., names are trademarks of T-Mobile and the other carrier would have a different product name for the device other than G2.

If you read the last bullet you can see that it seems like they are planning on launching G2 with another global carrier. If they launch G2 with another golbal carrier they might have to change the name but it would certainly give them a larger market.

Pretty sure Osama Bin Laden doesn’t have an account on Facebook but if he did I am sure it would look exactly like the one shown below. Jihadists have had great success in using YouTube and other online networking tools to get their message out on the web. With the popularity of Facebook it seems like their next target is to invade Facebook and use it as a portal for their next propaganda. For more information please click on the link below after you check out the fake Osama Facebook profile.

We started Twitter Week on Monday which ends today. This entire week Nethackz writers talked about nothing but twitter. While going through the posts I did come across some that I didn’t know about before. With so many applications and services related to Twitter, I know we missed quite a few of them. But we sure do hope that you enjoyed the posts and hopefully we were able to introduce you to some that weren’t known to you before.

Twitter has become such a phenomenon on the web that it is amazing. People sharing each others views, opinions and sharing expertise in one platform is certainly amazing. Especially with the 140 character restriction its amazing to see how well people make use of words and still are able to convey messages effectively. I just wanted to quick highlight all the posts here from this week just in case you missed them. Here we go,

Twellow : Twitter YellowPage

Twalala : Control What You See On Twitter

TwitPic : Send Images To Twitter From Your Cellphone

Twiffid : See What Your Friends Are Blogging On Twitter

TwittURLs : Twitter Version Of PopURLs

TweetLater : TimeStamp Your Tweets

Make Money From Your Tweets

25 Stinky Tweets : Exposing The Toilet Twitterers

Twittieme : Advertise Your Twitter Page

TweetChat : Use Twitter As a Chat Room

Twitter Fan Wiki

I would like to thank Nethackz staff for focusing on twitter alone this week and going with my crazy idea. I am sure they were tempted to write about other things. Although I liked all the apps that were discussed my personal favorites are Tweetlater and Twitter Fan Wiki. Also just cause the Twitter week is over doesn’t mean we won’t be discussing twitter anymore here on Nethackz. With everything going on with Twitter and each day new services coming out, we will certainly be discussing Twitter quite often here on Nethackz. Meanwhile, if you would like to follow us on twitter, please click on the links below,

Jason, Ritu and HackzNetwork.

Hope you guys are all in a great holiday spirit. If you like snow (I live in Minnesota) and barely get any where you live I would be happy to trade spaces with you until the winter is over ;-) .

Have a great weekend!

If you are looking to find every Twitter application and tool out there I think this will serve you pretty good. Although there are hundreds of twitter tools coming out of the woods each day, I think it would be safe to say that this wiki covers almost every service that you might possibly need in regards to your Twitter use.

Since it is a wiki you also have the option to edit page and add new apps or make correction where you might thing the information is outdated or wrong. The wiki seems to be updated pretty often. This site should be able to satisfy any urge or any requirements you might have that relates to your twitter use ;-) . Give it a try, you will love it with all the applications that are listed here for both desktop and mobile.

Not exactly but that is what the service pretty much does. Usually when you are using twitter, your twitter stream is filled with unwanted noise. Some people have hundreds and thousands of followers and of course its not possible to engage in conversation with all of them at the same time. This is when TweetChat comes in really handy.

TweetChat is a service that lets you use twitter like a chat. You change rooms like other online chat services and move from one specific conversation to the other. This service becomes really useful when you are trying to track something that is of importance to you. It might be a specific keyword or something that you are researching on and would like to participate and gain some data without all the background noise that Twitter usually gets crowded with.

Using TweetChat is as easy as it can be. To login use your twitter username and password. Once you are logged in you will be directed to page that asks you to enter a room. You won’t have any options to choose from as these rooms are based on what other twitter users are talking about. There are too many for them to list as I am sure there a few specific topics that are born each minute. Anyways, if you are looking to join in on a conversation that is related to “technology” just go ahead and type “technology” and hit enter. Now you will be able to see all tweets that are marked #technology and you can participate directly from tweetchat without having to visit twitter. This filters all the noise and you will be able to see all tweets related to technology. If you want to choose a different topic, just click “change room” and you are ready to go.

This can be a very useful tool if you want to focus on specific topics or conversations. Give it a try, you will love it!
