I found an interesting report by Websense Security Lab which I just got done reading. The report points out some very interesting facts on internet security and sites containing malware.

1. 75 percent of sites with malicious codes are legitimate sites.
2. 60 percent of the top 100 most popular sites have been involved in malicious activity
3. 87 percent of email messages are spam
4. Pornography related spam decreased by more than 70 percent
5. 57.3 percent of malware connects to U.S.
