Although Google is primarily seen as a search engine company their services are certainly not limited to just search engine market. They have such a wide array of services that at times it is simply hard to even remember or apply. The other day while I was on Twitter, I clicked on a link that so happened to be one of the best resources compiled by google for its users. I am not sure how long this has been around or if it is something Google recently released, but one thing for sure, this link is an ultimate resourcs for anyone thinking of using google’s other services besides search.

Please click on the image below to see what I am talking about…..it definitely is one of the best compiled resources, Google just knows how to tap into their market ;-) .

Thanks Nick!

Its a little early for this compilation but what the heck, we are in a spooky mood today. Google has long been in the game of creating holiday logos and others have followed their lead. In this post you will find Google’s Halloween logos from 1999 to 2007. We have also tried to compile some random Halloween logos from other web companies for you to check out. But trust us, Google seriously beats them all when it comes to creating holiday logos. There are some we found that were pretty interesting but it seems like none of the web companies have taken this trend as seriously as Google has.

Below you will find google Halloween logos and following them are some random logos from others. Pick your favorite and if you got any share links with us. We tried to spook you so its definitely your turn. Read the rest of this entry

There are millions of people every day searching for content on the web and in print media. Some are interested in seeking information while others are in need of well-written works for their publishing houses. Knowledgeable people like you are already writing tons of great material, but publish it on individual blogs, personal websites or sometimes not at all. It’s rather difficult to get recognized by media buyers looking for talented people like you when your publishings are buried on the web and not in one centrally located repository.

There has never been an easier way to publish content, increase your exposure and visibility and make money, until AddsYou! AddsYou.com is a social publishing network that pays authors for their written works.  This compilation of novels, shorts stories, poems, screenplays, etc. is positioned to become the world’s largest database of knowledge. Characterized as the Ultimate Social Publishing Network™, AddsYou redefines the way people publish and share knowledge on the internet, without the limitations of a blog, forum or wiki. Adds You is the evolution of online knowledge-based sharing and publishing.  It is unencumbered by the limitations of a blog, forum or wiki.  By combining a free and easy-to-use content management system with many helpful tools, such as personal and shared collections to manage and sort publishings, an importer to transfer blog postings, and a license and copyright manager, AddsYou is the one stop shop for publishing, marketing and monetizing content on the web.

You may have seen AddsYou on the likes of Twitter and Facebook over the past couple weeks. The company has been reaching out to writers to test out their social publishing community next month. The company recently launched an alpha invitation site and is currently offering the first 1,000 individuals an invitation to be a part of it’s private launch. As a netHACKZ reader, you can get one of 50 reserved Alpha Invitations by requesting yours at http://addsyou.com/nethackz

Admit it, you are a Twitter junky. Twitter has certainly taken the web by storm considering everything appears to be on Twitter when it comes to news and everything else. There are times when Twitter users manage to tweet natural disasters and political news before the traditional media does. I am myself hooked to Twitter but due to lack of time haven’t been able to use it as much as I would like to. However, I still manage to rant every once in a while, like yesterday. I was going a little nuts on Twitter while watching the second Presidential Debate. Lets not go there…..it was pretty pathetic.

Anyway, I just wanted to quick point you guys to a great Twitter resource compiled by Noupe.com. If you want a list of Twitter tools and Firefox plugins to make your Tweet life easier, this post is a must read. Lots of cool links to follow and download. Tweet away!

By the way, if you would like to read my rants on Twitter you can find me here.

This has to be one of the coolest gadget charger ever. The design of the desk itself is pretty simple but what hides underneath is what makes it one of the coolest desk we have ever seen. The desk known as “Powerwise” has a flip top that houses a powerhouse to charge most of your gadgets. A chord sneaks out from one of the leg that powers all the outlets that are housed within this desk. All electrical outlets on this desk have their own on/off button which makes the deal even sweeter. Check it out,

Let us know what you think.

Its not very often that you go looking for something cool to feature and then you come across something that totally baffles you. You say WTF? and then you think WOW! Yeah, one of those things. That’s exactly the feeling I am going through after seeing some of the most awesome sculptures I have ever seen. I have seen quite a few amazing ones but never any that were made from old typewriters. It is pretty amazing and the words definitely won’t do justice to this form of art. So go ahead and take a look at these images below and let us know what you think.

I have used typewriters in the past. Typing on it alone was such a pain that I didn’t want to take a look at it. I never really had to use it for work due to the fact that by the time I actually had to work the computers had arrived. But I can’t imagine someone has as much patience and creativity to take these thing apart and build something so beautiful out of it. Simply amazing.

These 3 images were the ones that really caught my attention and the reason they are featured here, if you would like to see a few more of “typewriter sculptures” please make sure to visit the source link at the bottom of this post.

The Victoria School of Business and Technology in Canada has received a letter from Apple saying that they infringed Apple’s logo. It seems like Apple is getting a little too insecure about their logo cause it doesn’t really seem like the School’s logo is violating Apple’s trademark logo in anyway. Please take a look at the image below which shows both the School’s and Apple’s logo.

Personally, I don’t really think there is any room for Apple to speak up on this matter. But well they usually do and they did. This is what Apple’s lawyer wrote in the letter sent to the school,

Your business logo…reproduces, without authority, our client’s Apple design logo which it widely uses. By doing so, you are infringing Apple’s rights, and further, falsely suggesting that Apple has authorized your activities.

And this is what the school had to say,

Our logo is unique and distinguishable in numerous aspects from the Apple logo, including our logo “VSBT” being part of our logo. Are you suggesting anyone using any variation of an apple for technology education related use is infringing on Apple’s trademark?

The school’s letter can be found by clicking on the image below. They have set up a poll as well to see whether or not others think VSBT violated Apple’s trademark. Please click the link below and vote to show your support to whoever you think is right on this matter. We are on VSBT’s side as it doesn’t seem like they are involved in any trademark infringement.

Ebay has decided to lay off 1,000 employees which is a 10% cut from it’s existing number of employees. Besides cutting employee number eBay today also announced the acquisition of two new businesses : Bill Me Later (for $820 Million in Cash and $125 Million in Options) and two online classified sites based in Denmark for approximately $390 million. Bill Me Later seems to be a smart addition to their existing business as it should be a good compliment to Paypal, eBay’s online payment portal.

The rumors also say that eBay is trying to sell StumbleUpon which they acquired for a whooping $75 million in 2007. With all the recent changes it sure looks like a possibility.
