Last night while getting my daily dose of content and what not from sites like Digg, reddit I came across something that really caught my eye. The fact that it was on the frontpage of reddit surging rapidly was definitely a good sign because unlike Digg, reddit is a “purist” community and what is good gets bumped up, period.
The site that I want to review today is BigBookSearch. I find this site to be extremely useful in many ways. It sort of acts like Google’s image search but for books, dvds and Music CDs. Lost that album cover and don’t remember what it looked like? Well, here is an easy solution. This service pulls all of its data from Amazon Web Services. You might ask what is the point of using it if you can just use Amazon? The main thing with this service is the ease of use and how neatly everything is worked out. Its sort of finding your favorite books, DVDs and CDs on a shelve. You can see the image clearly as they are clear and sometimes picture do say a thousand words.
I really enjoyed using the service and it is certainly something you should try if you are a bookworm, moviebuff or a music junky. It is well presented, has an extensive data (pulled from Amazon) and you get to see images of the books and all. It is definitely easier at times when you know the author and remember the cover but can’t seem to recall the name of the book.
Like I mentioned above, I found this via Reddit. I have included some reviews that reddit users left and trust me reddit is a community that says it like it is. Check it out what reddit community thinks about this site which shows the likeability of this service,
There are a lot more positive reviews on the reddit link. You can see suggestions, reviews and all if you click on this link. I know I will be using this service and although it pulls data from Amazon, it is way better than using Amazon itself. Out of 10 I wouldn’t mind giving this site a 9.5.
