This is a pretty neat service! As usual on my quest to find something out of the ordinary and useful I came across this site mosio which lets you text a question using your mobile phone and you can get upto four answers. Yes, you do have friends and families to help you out with your queries but I can bet they don’t know answers to all the questions you have.

These questions are answered by real people who are referred to as QnAgents. You might think the service is pretty silly as you can have answers through google mobile and other app but as far as I know google mobile wont help you answer ” What is the most beautiful country in the world?”, yeah its silly but sometimes its just plain fun. Think of having an argument with a friend or a colleague and nobody can help you answer the question, this is when Mosio service comes in handy.
Before you can use this service you will have to check if this service is available for your phone. I have my service through Sprint so it was available and as far as I can see they have all the major carriers so you shouldn’t have a problem. Here is the link to test your phone, test my phone
To try it out text a question ( anything ) to qna@mosio.com and get 4 free answers by real people. Let me know through your comments how your experience was, as for me it was fun and its just another service that I learned about. Ohh and it also works with Twitter.

I just got my feet wet on SlideShare couple days ago and that is the reason why “Just Google It” was embedded here on Nethackz. Usually I am pretty quick in jumping in social bandwagon but for some reason I had been holding off to this new platform, not sure why. Anyway I am in and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I can see myself using slideshare often.

While I was bragging about slideshare on gtalk to one of my friends, he mentioned that SlideShare is “YouTube of Presentations,” I would have to say that the comparison is pretty accurate. You can tell that I am just in love with it. Enough of my rambling lets get on with what it is all about.

SlideShare is a service that lets you upload your presentations online so you can share them over the web. You can either make it private or public. Public enables your presentation to be seen by the entire community as they please. I think this service is really handy for students and professionals alike during presentations. There are days when your computer suddenly dies or something else happens and you can’t show your presentation that you have worked so hard for. Well, the simple solution : put it on slideshare and if nothing works log in and present your idea to the masses.

The key to this service is your idea, views or whatever it is that you are trying to present isn’t limited to a certain number of people. Depending on what you present and how you present you have a chance to create a presence within this community. SlideShare also lets other users embed your presentation which gives more exposure to you if they use it on their blogs or their profile, etc.

All in all, I think this is a great service and if you haven’t used it yet, I urge you to give it a try.

Well, well, well, look what we got here, another service related to Twitter but this one we had to let you guys know about. SpliTweet is a service that lets users with multiple twitter account manage tweets and their twitter account. This service is more for corporate users who use multiple twitter accounts but I think it is quite beneficial for individuals who have more than one twitter accounts or profile.

The use of the service is pretty easy. It is free to use this service and once you are signed in you can add as many Twitter accounts as you would like. Once you are logged in using your main twitter account, you can add new twitter accounts simply by clicking on “twitter accounts.” Add your new twitter profile name and password and you are good to go. This is how the interface looks like once you are signed in ,

You can check the “check box” next to your twitter username and send tweets out. You can either check all of them or check only ones that you would like to tweet. It is extremely easy to use and anyone who has more than one Twitter account should be able to benefit from this service. If you give it a try let us know what you think.

Some web apps catch your attention just cause they are simple. Think about google. When google first launched people were excited because it did exactly what they wanted it to do. There were no flashy designs and all that stuff and google still stays the same – simple and giving search results without all the bells and whistles.

Although the service that we are about to mention is no where close to google, it still is pretty helpful. Thumbizy allows you to create website thumbnails in a snap. That’s all it does, helps you create thumbnails for the links you provide and nothing else. That is what the service is supposed to do and that’s exactly what it does without any fancy ads, blogs or anything else.

We created a thumbnail for Nethackz and it was able to capture the most current snapshot of the blog. You have a few options that you can use using the drop down menu but all in all the service is pretty simple and well, easy to use. Type the link in the box and hit go, thats all it takes. It does take a while to generate the thumbnail but its not like we are in a rush anyway ;-) .

What started out as a search engine, Google is now a behemoth in the tech industry. I remember the days when they launched the search engine and everyone was wondering how they are going to monetize and stay in business. Look at them now. They are huge and they have taken over the internet and when I say that I mean in a good way. Recently google released google android and people seem to love the new G1 phone ( I am still waiting for mine, Jason ;-)   ). Anyway, enough rambling from my side. Just wanted to quick show you guys a demo on Google’s operating System which is due sometimes early next year. Please take a look at the video and make sure to check out the start and shut off time,

For more on gOS please visit thinkgos.

note : please note that gOS stands for good Operating System and not Google Operating System. I wasn’t sure about it and wrote the article as Google Operating System. If the information was misleading in anyway we would like to apologize.

This handy application might be pretty useful for people who like to reseach and of course for SEO guys. StateStats lets you see what particular keywords are popular in U.S. states. It analyzes the keyword and based on that shows the popularity of each keywords state wise. The use of this application is pretty simple, just fill the box with the keyword you want o explore and you got it.

We tried exploring popularity of the word “mittens” as a search query on each state and the results that came out justifies that this app actually works pretty good. Please take a look at the image below,

We can see that the word “mittens” is being searched in states where the weather is pretty chilly so it is pretty accurate. However, when we tried searching some other keywords we got a message saying that the site is overload. Not sure if they can’t extract the data or they are just swamped with requests. Do take a look though, like I said in the beginning this might prove helpful if you are looking to do a keyword research and such based on US states.

It is a well known fact that most people like to scan when it comes to lengthy articles. This is one of the reason why we like to keep it short and to the point here on NetHackz. Everyone is so busy with their lives we barely have too much time on hand to actually sit and read a thousand word article. This is where GreatSummary comes in handy. This application allows you to summarize an article or a site into 1 or upto 100 sentences (points).

We used an article from our blog MarketingHackz to see how it would work and it is quite impressive if you put the text on step 1 and ignore step 2. When we added link to the article it returned results that were from the entire site and not just the article. However, pasting the text on the first box was pretty impressive. Here is the article that we used this service to see what it would come up with 5 Tips On Getting Attention From Your Ads

Here is the summary that GreatSummary returned :

Although not perfect it still is quite impressive. Give it a try, it might save you some time while on the run.

With Twitter breaking into the mainstream media, it seems like everyone is coming with tools for Twitter. Some of them are extremely useful and some are completely out of whack. Seriously, some Twitter tools exist for no reason what so ever. One of those tools is the newly launched twitter tool, TweetValue. What this tool does is calculates the worth of your profile in dollars. I can’t really see any use of this tool than something to play with and get discouraged. I tried my twitter profile and it came about $25 in terms of value. That is discouraging to say the least but then again my profile isn’t there to make money, its there to make contacts and increase my visibility.

Give it a try and let us know what you think. A useless tool or something that you find useful?
