This is funny! Well, I find it funny but some were outraged so I guess it might not be something that is funny in general. Anyway, if you are a music fan or a Guns N’ Roses’ fan you probably know that they recently released a new album called “Chines Democracy.” Earlier this year Dr Pepper promised America that if GNR released their album this year they would give a free Dr Pepper to everyone in America. Well, Guns N’ Roses’ went ahead and released the album this year, 17 years since their last album. Dr Pepper took the hit.
Dr Pepper’s site got hit so hard with people trying to download the coupon for a free soda, the site crashed. Yup! Its funny, don’t you think? I am not sure if Dr Pepper knew they were releasing an album and wanted to create some buzz or they just thought GNR wouldn’t release another album after so many years. Whatever the reason might be for their marketing campaign, they got hit hard! And since their site was down they extended the offer from 24 hours to 42 hours.
