Finally! Finally it seems like Microsoft is going to move on and leave Yahoo alone. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that they are done running after Yahoo for now. I am kind of glad that Microsoft has decided to leave it alone but again all those news and rumors that came around were kind of fun
. This is what Steve Ballmer had to say,
We had a set of principles, we talked about them, it didn’t work out. Fine, we’re done. We can move on.
But wait we don’t have to worry about not seeing Microsoft trying to run after something else. It seems like they have their eye on Facebook now. We will see how that goes. Get ready for another round and this time it might be Facebook.

This is rather funny from a New Zalanders point of view you see a few yrs ago MS did a deal with Telecom NZ to run its MSN services from XTRA Telecom NZ’s ISP branch, but because Xtra were not inclined to speend vast amounts of money on new servers to help cope with the influx of traffic and new services that MS wanted xtra to run they parted company, so now here’s the kicker Xtra did a deal with none other than (you guessed it ) Yahoo!! so if at some point MS do manage to buy Yahoo out there will be yet another name change instore xtra’s customers sofar there’s been 3
1: XTRA (the original name ofcourse)
2: XTRAMSN
3: YahooXTRA
4: ???????????? (your guess here)
