With every business going “green” technology sector sure hasn’t stayed quiet. Intel’s new green processor, code named Nehalem is a move towards safer environment and huge savings, $2 Billion to be exact. The company says that the chip is not only super fast but extremely energy efficient. Nehalem follows Intel Core II and IV processors.

The only catch with this processor is that the chip has to remain active to receive instructions. Usually chips remained fully powered even in an idle stage to grasp any instruction on its way, this won’t be the case with Nehalem. However, this certainly is a good move on Intel’s part and hopefully this will help us save money as well and not just them.
