Search Engine Popularity Growing Day by Day

There was an interesting study that showed that search activity is catching up with the most popular online activity – email.

Here are a few things noted to derive this conclusion :

1. Search Engine usage has increased by 49% and email is at 60%
2. Percentage of men using search engines has grown from 33% to 53%
3. Percentage of women using search engine has grown from 25% to 45%
4. 90% of internet users use search at some point in time to find information they are looking for

This is what Search Engine Land’s Greg Sterling had to say,

I would speculate that there’s so much information out there that no other organizational tool can manage the volumes of content that people online ‘consume.’ Search has become an essential utility for almost all Internet users.
