SlideShare – YouTube of Presentations
I just got my feet wet on SlideShare couple days ago and that is the reason why “Just Google It” was embedded here on Nethackz. Usually I am pretty quick in jumping in social bandwagon but for some reason I had been holding off to this new platform, not sure why. Anyway I am in and I am enjoying it quite a bit. I can see myself using slideshare often.
While I was bragging about slideshare on gtalk to one of my friends, he mentioned that SlideShare is “YouTube of Presentations,” I would have to say that the comparison is pretty accurate. You can tell that I am just in love with it. Enough of my rambling lets get on with what it is all about.
SlideShare is a service that lets you upload your presentations online so you can share them over the web. You can either make it private or public. Public enables your presentation to be seen by the entire community as they please. I think this service is really handy for students and professionals alike during presentations. There are days when your computer suddenly dies or something else happens and you can’t show your presentation that you have worked so hard for. Well, the simple solution : put it on slideshare and if nothing works log in and present your idea to the masses.
The key to this service is your idea, views or whatever it is that you are trying to present isn’t limited to a certain number of people. Depending on what you present and how you present you have a chance to create a presence within this community. SlideShare also lets other users embed your presentation which gives more exposure to you if they use it on their blogs or their profile, etc.
All in all, I think this is a great service and if you haven’t used it yet, I urge you to give it a try.
