Next time you see your teen daughter or son hooked on a cell phone, lay off their back and give them credit for it. All they are doing is getting better at taking instructions. Who knows when they might need it. While I was browsing the web, catching up on some news I came across this piece which is quite fascinating.
A British surgeon who had never performed a forequarter amputation before did exactly that when faced with a dilemma. While he was in Congo, Africa he had a wounded a teenager who could only live if a forequarter amputation was carried out. The surgeon asked his colleague in UK to help him out. He received help as a 10 step instruction via text message . The instruction giving surgeon signed off saying “Easy!Goodluck.” And guess what? The surgery went without a hitch.
That’s the story. If I were the surgeon I would have used twitter though. But again with everyone chiming in may be it is better to use text messaging since its more concentrated
