
While the banning of Digg users has been well publicized recently and capped by the banning of the #3 digger of all time, it was during Zaibatsu’s interview that a hint was dropped. The bannings may be permanent, Digg may have moved on, but the insinuation that Mixx may be getting a redesign is more important than anything else mentioned.
Mixx is a good site. It is on the cusp of being a great social media site. They need to take advantage of the positives they have going for them and nurture the user base until they can sustain and truly grow. Read the rest of this entry

In the world of social media, there are really only two names that stand out. Digg, the leader in the business for over two years now, and Reddit, the simple alternative to Digg, have been 1 and 2 for a while and show no signs of relinquishing that position.
StumbleUpon is arguably in the mix, but it is not a true social media site. Delicious and Slashdot have their own claims, but again, they don’t fall into the same realm of true socially driven media sites.
