Thank You For a Wonderful 2008

2008 has been a blast for us. We launched MarketingHackz first and then Nethackz and both blogs went off the roof in few short months. We knew we could make it happen but it sure did exceed our expectations. We launched Nethackz in June and since then we have come a long way. You guys have been a constant source of inspiration for us to grow and without you, our readers, we wouldn’t exist. One of the things that really hit us hard on 2008 was being listed on autobury on digg. Everyone knows that Digg is a “traffic house” and we certainly hit it hard when we first started and after that BAM! we were out of picture. We tried a couple times after that just to make sure and confirm and I think it is confirmed that we have been put under autobury but then again its Digg, you never know what the deal is.

Getting banned from digg although hurt us a little, it opened up other opportunities. We moved from focusing creating articles solely for traffic and turned Nethackz more into a tech info blog and since then we have been rolling like a powerhouse. The subscriber numbers have grew and we have been mentioned by BBC. That certainly was the highlight of 2008 for us. There are not a whole lot of blogs that can say they were mentioned by BBC’s editorial team within such a short amount of time and we are proud that we can .

While we say goodbye to the year 2008, we would like to thank all our readers and especially Jason for bringing us all together by creating a platform for us. With each post and each comment we get a little closer to building a community and with over 300 posts the Nethack staff have certainly worked hard in keeping this blog going.

We wish you a very Happy New Year. We hope to see you around next year. Have fun, party hard and throw the keys before you start drinking. If you lose the key you can always get a new one. Be safe out there and we will wait for you in 2009.
