Everyone checks out a little adult site here and there. I won’t try to put myself on the innocent stand and will admit that I do look at porn as well. Well, it seems like the hold up with Internet Explorer 8 might be “private browsing” or what people like to call the “porn mode.” What this feature does is when you turn on the “porn mode” you don’t have to clear your history. I have heard cases of people watching porn and then forgetting to clear their history only to get caught by their wife, parents or whoever it is that you are trying to hide it from. Now thats scary. So this might be one possible reason why IE8 is holding back with the release. Let’s wait till MS releases IE8 and see if it is all about porn errrrr private browsing
.
Below are two trademarks filed by Microsoft last month that kind of gives us a little hint if this is whats causing the hold up,
CLEARTRACKS
IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: computer programs for accessing and using the Internet and the world wide web; and computer programs for deleting search history after accessing websites
INPRIVATE
IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: computer programs for accessing and using the Internet and the world wide web; computer programs for disabling the history and file caching features of a web browser; and computer software for notifying a user of a web browser when others are tracking web use and for controlling the information others can access about such use
Of course this might have other positive implementations but majority of web users are going to use it for viewing porn and we all know it.
